NANKANA SAHIB — The three-day celebrations marking the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism, have begun in Nankana Sahib — a city revered as the birthplace of the great spiritual leader and a global symbol of peace, faith, and unity.

From November 3 to 5, thousands of Sikh pilgrims from around the world — including over 2,000 devotees from India — are gathering to pay homage to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and participate in sacred rituals that highlight his eternal message of love, equality, and oneness of humanity.

According to the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, more than 2,100 visas have been issued to Indian pilgrims, reflecting Pakistan’s continued commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and strengthening people-to-people ties, even amid regional challenges.

Local authorities have finalized extensive arrangements to ensure a smooth and secure event. Facilitation centers, healthcare units, and enhanced security measures have been put in place to welcome the influx of visitors.

An estimated 30,000 devotees from Pakistan and abroad are expected to attend the main ceremony, turning Nankana Sahib into a vibrant center of spiritual reflection and celebration.

This annual pilgrimage serves as a powerful reminder that faith transcends borders, nurturing compassion, understanding, and unity among diverse communities.
