🌙 PMD Releases 2026 Moon-Sighting Calendar From Shaban to Rajab — All Islamic Dates Announced

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has officially released the moon sighting calendar for 2026, outlining the expected dates for the start of all Islamic months throughout the year.
According to the Climate Data Processing Center of the PMD, the calendar provides complete details of moon birth, sunset, and sighting times for each month, allowing citizens to plan significant religious events such as Ramadan, Eid, and Hajj well in advance.
As per PMD predictions, the Shaban moon is expected to be sighted on January 21, while the Ramadan moon is likely to appear on February 18, 2026. The Shawwal moon, marking Eid-ul-Fitr, is anticipated on March 19, followed by the Dhul-Qa’d moon on April 18.
Further projections indicate that the Dhul-Hijjah moon, associated with Eid-ul-Azha, will likely be visible on May 17, and the Muharram moon, marking the beginning of the Islamic New Year, on June 15, 2026.
The Safar moon is forecast for July 15, Rabi’ al-Awwal on August 13, Rabi’ al-Thani on September 12, Jamadi al-Awwal on October 12, Jamadi al-Sani on November 10, and Rajab on December 10, 2026.
The PMD emphasized that these dates are based on scientific astronomical calculations and may vary depending on actual moon sightings closer to the time.
